Oral health status and treatment needs of children and adolescents with special healthcare needs in Raipur district of Central India: A cross-sectional study.
A cross-sectional survey of 684 children and adolescents with special healthcare needs in India found that two-thirds had dental caries, over 93% needed treatment, and oral hygiene varied significantly by age, disability type, and socioeconomic status. The study identified substantial unmet oral health needs in this population, attributed to barriers in accessing care and limited caregiver awareness.
