Association between personality traits, dental caries, and oral health-related behaviors among underserved Egyptian adults: a cross-sectional study.
Researchers examined whether five personality dimensions (openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism) were associated with tooth decay and oral health behaviors in 820 underserved Egyptian adults. Higher neuroticism predicted less tooth brushing, while greater openness linked to more dental visits but higher sugar consumption, and conscientiousness associated with lower sugar intake.
