Effects of different dental local anesthesia techniques on salivary cortisol and secretory immunoglobulin a in pediatric patients: a randomized controlled clinical study.
Researchers compared four local anesthesia techniques in children aged 6–9 years, measuring stress biomarkers in saliva. Computer-controlled anesthesia delivery produced lower procedural discomfort scores and prevented stress-related changes in cortisol and salivary antibodies, whereas conventional and jet anesthesia increased these markers.
