Researchers compared dental anxiety in 82 children aged 3–7 years with and without verbal communication challenges using a Doll Placement Test in a miniature dental setup. Children with limited verbal skills showed higher anxiety, greater need for parental presence, and their test results correlated with their actual behaviour in the dental chair.
