Psychological burden as the primary determinant of suicidal ideation in patients with temporomandibular disorders.

Among 441 temporomandibular disorder patients, 8.2% reported suicidal ideation, with rates reaching 20.9% in chronic pain cases. Depression emerged as the primary independent predictor of suicidal ideation, highlighting the importance of psychological assessment in TMD care.
