Imaging modalities for detecting jaw bone invasion in oral squamous cell carcinoma: a systematic review and diagnostic test accuracy meta-analysis.
Researchers assessed how accurately different imaging methods detect jawbone invasion in oral cancer by analysing 38 studies. CT and MRI performed similarly, with sensitivities around 79–87% and specificities around 76–84%, while SPECT was highly sensitive but often produced false positives.
