Stromal α-smooth muscle actin-positive myofibroblasts in odontogenic keratocyst: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.

Researchers compared stromal myofibroblast levels across odontogenic keratocysts, dentigerous cysts, and ameloblastomas using data from 22 studies. Odontogenic keratocysts showed higher myofibroblast expression than dentigerous cysts but similar levels to ameloblastomas, suggesting a distinct stromal phenotype without clear links to aggressive behaviour.
