Maresin 1 Resolves Inflammation and Aids Bone Healing in Periapical Lesions
Researchers tested whether maresin 1, a specialized immune-resolving molecule, could reduce inflammation and promote bone healing in a mouse model of chronic apical periodontitis. MaR1 treatment significantly reduced lesion size, preserved bone volume, lowered inflammatory cell numbers, and decreased a key pathogenic bacterium.
