Senescent CD4+ T Cells Drive Diabetic Periodontitis via JAK-STAT-ROS-p38 MAPK

Researchers found that ageing CD4+ immune cells drive diabetic periodontitis by activating specific cellular signalling pathways (JAK-STAT and p38 MAPK), which generate damaging inflammatory responses and bone loss. Blocking these pathways reduced immune cell ageing in laboratory studies.
