Mesenchymal Clock Regulates TMJ Homeostasis and Lipid Metabolic Rhythms with Age
Researchers found that the circadian clock in mesenchymal cells protects TMJ cartilage and bone during aging by regulating a protein called PRG4 and controlling inflammatory signalling. Administering PRG4 at night—its peak natural time—partially restored cartilage integrity in aged mice and those lacking the circadian regulator Bmal1.
