Role of KLF4 in Neutrophil Aging in Periodontitis with Metabolic Syndrome

Researchers found that metabolic syndrome worsens periodontitis by promoting aging of neutrophils in periodontal tissues, a process controlled by the KLF4 gene; a drug predicted to activate KLF4 reduced periodontal damage and improved metabolic markers in mice by reversing this neutrophil aging.
