HED-Derived iPSCs Reveal Neurofunctional Defects in Ectodermal Dysplasia

Journal of Dental Research · L. Peng, X. Song, Y. Lin, X. Tao, T. Huan, Y. Song, M. He, Z. Bian, W. Yin · 2026-06-10

Researchers created patient-derived stem cells harbouring a KDF1 gene mutation causing hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia and found defects in cell populations involved in synapse function that appeared to disrupt normal ectodermal development; CRISPR correction partially restored these abnormalities.
