Oral health needs and case mix complexity of adults with disabilities requiring special care dentistry: a retrospective hospital audit.

Researchers reviewed dental records of 184 adults with disabilities attending a specialist centre to examine their oral health needs and treatment complexity. They found high levels of dental disease and complexity, with nearly half of cases classified as severe and over one-third requiring advanced sedation or anaesthesia.
