Regional Disruption of Slow-Wave Sleep Homeostasis in Children with Sleep-Disordered Breathing.

Researchers examined brain activity during sleep in 62 children with varying sleep-disordered breathing severity, finding that increased hypopnea burden was linked to disrupted regional patterns of slow-wave activity despite globally preserved deep sleep. This regional disruption was not detected by conventional sleep measures.
