IGF2-H19 Locus Expression Profile and Biomarker Potential in Oral Cancer.
Researchers found that IGF2 and H19 genes were overexpressed in oral cancer cell lines but underexpressed in patient cancer tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues. Combined measurement of these genes plus an associated microRNA showed improved ability to distinguish oral cancer from non-cancerous tissue, suggesting potential diagnostic biomarker value.
