Clinical and radiographic comparison of minimally invasive nonsurgical and surgical approaches with enamel matrix derivatives in periodontal intrabony defects: a 3-arm randomized clinical trial.
Researchers compared three approaches for treating periodontal bone defects: nonsurgical cleaning alone, minimally invasive surgery with enamel matrix derivative, and nonsurgical cleaning with enamel matrix derivative. At 6 months, nonsurgical treatment with the derivative showed comparable outcomes to surgical treatment, with less bleeding on the gums.
