Tooth-level spatial distribution of AI-detected oral hygiene insufficiency in fixed appliance versus clear aligner patients: A large-scale analysis using the dental monitoring™ platform.
Researchers analysed over 15 million oral hygiene assessments from nearly 41,000 orthodontic patients using artificial intelligence, finding that fixed appliance patients had significantly worse hygiene scores than clear aligner patients across all tooth locations, with mandibular anterior teeth most affected in both groups.
