Artificial Intelligence-based Caries Risk Prediction Model for Preschool Children.
Researchers developed machine learning models to predict which preschool children would develop new cavities, testing logistic regression and random forest approaches on 200 children using clinical and behavioural data. The random forest model performed better and identified high mutans streptococci levels, frequent sugar intake, previous cavities, and baseline cavity count as the strongest predictive factors.
