Perceived importance of oral health among patients attending Katutura Hospital general outpatient department and dental clinic, Namibia.

Acta odontologica Scandinavica · Rutabanzibwa JJ, Ross A · 2026-07-16

Researchers surveyed 639 adults in Namibia to identify factors influencing oral health knowledge, perceived oral health status, and actual tooth decay. Tertiary education emerged as the strongest predictor of good oral health knowledge and lower tooth decay rates, while daily tooth brushing and employment status independently influenced how people perceived their oral health and dental needs.
