South Korean adolescent handwashing increased during COVID-19 then returned to baseline, while toothbrushing declined significantly and only partially recovered. School-based hygiene education strengthened handwashing compliance across groups but had weaker and inconsistent effects on toothbrushing, particularly post-pandemic.
