Adults undergoing a surgical bone-thinning assisted maxillary expansion procedure with a steeper baseline palatal plane angle were significantly more likely to have greater downward rotation of the maxilla after treatment, indicating this pre-treatment measurement may predict post-treatment skeletal outcomes.
