Researchers compared three treatments for deep gum defects: non-surgical therapy alone, conventional surgery with bone graft, and minimally invasive surgery with antimicrobial light therapy. The minimally invasive approach with light therapy reduced harmful bacteria most effectively, achieved similar clinical improvements, caused less gum recession, and produced better patient comfort.
