Age influence in the location of the mental and mandibular foramen in children: A cone-beam computed tomography-based study.

Researchers used cone-beam CT to track how the positions of the mandibular and mental foramina change with age in children aged 3–18 years, finding that these landmarks shift significantly as the jaw grows, with the mandibular foramen moving upward relative to the occlusal plane and the mental foramen shifting both vertically and backward.
