Association between Oral Manifestations and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease-related Esophageal Diseases: A Scoping Review.

A scoping review of 162 studies examined links between oral signs and gastroesophageal reflux disease and related oesophageal conditions. Erosive tooth wear, burning mouth and halitosis showed possible associations with reflux disease, while salivary changes and oral microbiome alterations were potentially connected to disease severity, though no single salivary marker proved reliably diagnostic.
