CBCT evaluation of temporomandibular joint changes in patients with oral submucous fibrosis.

Researchers used CBCT imaging to compare temporomandibular joint structures between patients with oral submucous fibrosis and healthy controls, finding that OSMF patients displayed more condylar flattening, cortical erosion, osteophytes and reduced joint space, with severity correlating to greater changes.
