Researchers mixed polylactic acid with either ground glass-ionomer cement or sodium fluoride, then tracked how the materials changed over four weeks in simulated mouth conditions. Glass-ionomer-modified samples, especially at 5% concentration, maintained better structural stability and mechanical strength than those with sodium fluoride or unfilled polymer alone.
