Lifestyle behaviors as Effect Modifiers in the Association Between Oral Health and Carotid Artery Calcification: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Researchers found that carotid artery calcification on dental radiographs showed associations with poor oral health, but these disappeared after adjusting for confounding factors. However, alcohol consumption modified this relationship, with carotid artery calcification remaining associated with periodontal disease among drinkers.
