Paediatric & MIH Study ✓ Peer reviewed

The relationship between multidimensional parenting practices and oral health status, oral health behaviours, and dental anxiety in a regional Turkish paediatric population.

Scientific reports · Yıldırım H, Kurt A, Okumuş İ · 2026-07-27

Researchers examined whether parenting styles relate to children's oral health, hygiene behaviours, and dental anxiety in 605 Turkish children aged 6–12 years. Positive parenting was associated with better oral health and lower dental anxiety, whilst negative parenting and certain anxiety measures predicted poorer oral outcomes.
