Can fiber reinforcement enhance the load-bearing capacity of self-adhesive restorative materials? An in vitro study.

Odontology · Öndes E, Lassila L, Vallittu P, Garoushi S · 2026-09-07

Adding glass microfibers to a resin-modified glass ionomer cement improved its load-bearing capacity and fracture toughness, though the same reinforcement did not significantly benefit a glass-hybrid material. Short fiber-reinforced composite still outperformed all other groups tested.
