Association of Treatments With Prevalence and Incidence of Periodontitis.
Researchers examined links between public dental treatments received between 2014–2020 and periodontitis diagnoses in 2021–2022 among over 50,000 patients. Preventive and restorative treatments associated with lower chronic periodontitis risk, while periodontal treatments and extractions associated with higher risk; patterns differed for acute periodontitis.
