Salivary enrichment with MaquiCPI-3 enhances acquired enamel pellicle properties and attenuates enamel mineral loss induced by microcosm biofilm.
Researchers tested whether a protein derived from maqui berry enhanced saliva's protective film on tooth enamel and reduced acid-induced mineral loss in laboratory biofilm models. The maqui protein at 0.5 mg/mL showed the strongest protective effect, reducing enamel demineralization comparably to chlorhexidine.
