Comparative effectiveness of therapeutic ultrasound and pharmacotherapy in the management of muscular temporomandibular disorders: a randomized clinical trial.

This randomized trial compared therapeutic ultrasound and medication (ibuprofen, paracetamol, chlorzoxazone) in treating muscle-related temporomandibular disorders. Both approaches reduced pain and improved mouth opening, but ultrasound produced greater improvements in pain relief and jaw function.
