Association between malocclusion severity and social anxiety, self-esteem in adolescents: A cross-sectional study.
Adolescents with severe malocclusion showed significantly higher social anxiety and lower self-esteem than those with mild or moderate malocclusion, and these associations persisted after accounting for other factors. The study cannot determine whether malocclusion causes these psychological effects or vice versa.
