Researchers pooled data from eight clinical trials and found that orthodontic treatment's overall effect on root resorption was minimal, but intrusive forces caused significantly more resorption than other force types. Both 2D and 3D imaging methods yielded similar results, though 3D imaging offered better measurement precision.
