Researchers analyzed 22 randomized controlled trials comparing Nd-YAG laser combined with scaling and root planing versus scaling and root planing alone. The laser adjunct produced modest pocket depth reduction but showed no significant benefits for plaque, bleeding, attachment loss, or other clinical measures.
