Researchers tested whether adding alkaline-substituted bioactive glasses to a standard whitening solution could preserve bleaching effectiveness while protecting tooth enamel. The modified solutions maintained whitening ability while significantly improving surface hardness, reducing roughness, and restoring enamel properties compared to the standard solution alone.
