Immunomodulatory effects of high versus low intensity diode laser as adjunct to non-surgical periodontal therapy in periodontitis.
Researchers compared how high-intensity and low-intensity diode laser therapy, each combined with conventional scaling and root planing, affected inflammatory markers in gingival fluid from periodontitis patients. High-intensity laser therapy produced the greatest reductions in inflammatory cytokines compared to low-intensity laser or scaling alone.
